Madrid, 15th January 2026.- Bad Bunny’s album “Debí Tirar más fotos” (Rimas Entertainment LLC), leads the album chart 2025, reaching No 1 on the same week of release. All of this has earned it to stay on the podium of Top 100 albums Chart for 22 weeks, achieving a PROMUSICAE certification of 6 Platinum Award (Disco de Platino®). Alongside his latest album, two other albums by Bad Bunny made it into the 2025 Top 100 albums. “Un verano sin ti” and “Nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana” (both Rimas Entertainment LLC).
The other big winner of the year is Rosalía, who places her album “Lux” (Sony Music) on top of the vinyl chart with only 7 weeks on charts, and second position on the year’s Top 100 albums. Indeed, since release on 7th November, the album has led the weekly album chart continuously and, except for once, the vinyl chart as well.
Urban music continues to shine in the 2025 Top 100 Songs with W Sound / Beéle / Ovy on the Drums and their huge success “La Plena (W Sound 05)” (Kristoman LLC), earning PROMUSICAE’s certification of 6 Platinum Award (Disco de Platino®), which means more than 600,000 units sold.
As for the most played song in Spain in 2025, it was ” APT.” (Warner Music) by New Zealand–South Korean Rosé and the USA singer-songwriter Bruno Mars.
With 2025 figures that leading global company in data and analytics GfK has compiled for PROMUSICAE –association representing 95% of the Spanish recording market– and AGEDI, producers’ intellectual property rights collecting society, is confirmed that listening of recorded music audio streaming remains relevant on the daily consumption habits of Spanish consumers.
2025 audio streaming consumption data, covering both premium subscriptions and ad-supported free tiers, surpass again those of 2024, reaching 103.6 billion streams in all digital audio streaming platforms, compared to 98.5 billion of the previous year. The increase confirms that Spain’s music consumption remains above the global average. If we project the previous data onto songs, Spaniards are listening to more than 280 million tracks every day.
Meanwhile, streaming accounts for 91% of total music consumption in our country in 2025. It is remarkable that, within the streaming of songs, consumption has significantly increased by 18% in premium subscriptions, accounting already for 64% of audio streaming total consumption. However, figures remain far below the share of surrounding countries such as France or The United Kingdom, which means that no recovery has occurred yet in our market to the level seen in other countries.
Looking at the data, we can conclude that, although Spain aligns with per capita consumption details of main European countries, given the still low premium subscriptions rate in Spain, the results in terms of profitability translates into lower income for the Spanish recording industry, artists and authors.
In terms of equivalent sales figures, conversion of all these streams into album sales would amount to a total of 40 million albums purchased by consumers (both physical and digital formats), 10 million more that in 2024. A relevant figure, but still far from the peak of 57 million reached in 2002.
Besides, the number of artists reaching significant streaming numbers in audio continues to grow, and in 2025 a total of 1,263 artists managed to reach more than 10 million streams of their works (83 more artists than in 2024). 82 out of them are those preferred by the audience and succeeded in reaching more than 100 million streams of their songs (12 artists more than the year before).
Details regarding 2025 physical market confirm the path of relentless growth of sales of vinyls, with units sold increasing by 22%, compared to 9% growth of the previous year. All in all, sales of physical formats rise by 2% over 2024, after a slight drop the year before.
According to PROMUSICAE’s President, Antonio Guisasola, these figures: «are the reward to the sustained effort of artists and producers to continue bringing the best of our talent to the Spanish public and confirms the good health of recorded music and the audience’s interest in it.
This interest becomes increasingly evident as global music consumption rises at the same time as the number of premium subscriptions to streaming platforms and the purchases of physical formats such as vinyl increase.»
Guisasola continues: «It’s great news that such a wide range of artists and record labels are supporting their creations to bring them to the market and to their fans, especially in an increasingly competitive and global environment, where Spanish music continues striving to gain the worldwide recognition it deserves. Their successes are evident in the official annual charts we publish today. Congratulations to all of them!»
The President of PROMUSICAE takes the opportunity to «remind public authorities of the need to continue supporting the production and investment carried out by Spanish record labels, so that the works of Spanish artists have the best possible opportunities for promotion and competitiveness in today’s music ecosystem, ensuring equal conditions with other creative sectors that receive more support than recorded music.
In today’s ultra-competitive global environment, with many people trying to replace artists with AI-generated creations, defending creative talent and originality is a fight we all must undertake.»
